FAQS - HOW TO UNTANGLE A CHAIN
HOW TO UNTANGLE A CHAIN
Fine chains can occasionally become tangled during wear or storage. Although this can be frustrating, most knots can be safely removed with a little patience and care.
DO NOT PULL THE CHAIN
If your necklace, bracelet, or anklet becomes tangled, do not pull on the chain or use force to try and undo the knot. Pulling on a tangled chain can tighten the knot further and may stretch, weaken, or damage the links.
HOW TO UNTANGLE YOUR JEWELRY
- Unclasp the jewelry and lay it on a clean, flat surface with plenty of light.
- Carefully identify the tangled section and gently loosen the knot using only your fingertips. Avoid pulling on either end of the chain.
- Once you've created a small gap within the tangle, gently work the links apart little by little. As the opening becomes larger, the knot will gradually begin to loosen.
- Continue easing the chain through the gap, working patiently until the tangle naturally unravels.
If you're unable to loosen the knot using your fingers, we recommend using a pair of fine-point tweezers to gently separate the links. Please take extra care when using any tools, as excessive pressure may scratch, bend, or damage delicate chains.
PREVENTION TIPS
To help prevent tangles:
- Fasten the clasp before storing your jewelry.
- Store each necklace, bracelet, or anklet separately.
- Keep chains laid flat inside a jewelry box or soft pouch.
- Avoid placing multiple fine chains together in the same compartment.
